The Association for Experiential Education (AEE) is a nonprofit professional membership association dedicated to experiential education and the students, educators, and practitioners who utilize its philosophy. AEE is committed to supporting professional development, theoretical advancement, and the evaluation of Experiential Education Worldwide.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety’s Division of Juvenile Justice partners with Juvenile Crime Prevention Councils in each county to galvanize community leaders, locally and statewide, to reduce and prevent juvenile crime. Juvenile Crime Prevention Council board members are appointed by the county Board of Commissioners and meet bi-monthly in each county. The meetings are open to the public, and all business is considered public information. NC DPS Division of Juvenile Justice allocates approximately $23 million dollars to these councils annually—funding is used to subsidize local programs and services.

Other Parents Like Me (OPLM) is an online peer support community designed for caregivers of children struggling with mental health and/or substance use issues. Other Parents Like Me has an extensive resource hub, daily peer led support groups and live weekly speaker talks as well as a monthly expert panel. This membership-based platform and virtual community is designed to create a safe space with the access and support parents need as they move from crisis to healing. Parents discover they are not alone.

The mission of the Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) is to promote public safety through accountability and responsibility. We assist and support Veterans and their families as they move through a coordinated effort among the court and community-based Veteran services, while improving their quality of life, thereby leaving no Veteran behind.

Camp Grier made a commitment almost 50 years ago to provide outdoor experiences for all children. We’re still more committed than ever to this value. As kids spend more and more time in front of screens indoors the need for outdoor play has become critical.

We love the beauty and warmth of these lovely homes that were so carefully designed and built more than a century ago. Sana House is a recovery residence for men 18 and up that provides mentoring and 24/7 individualized recovery support with the purpose of bringing recovery to life through community. Sana House was founded by Patrick Balsley in 2022 in order to serve individuals and families seeking recovery and meet the need for a high-end, clinically supported, recovery community in Charlotte, NC.

WNC Bridge Foundation exists to connect our communities to a healthier future and to create lasting change through local partnerships. Our efforts are focused on expanding access and equity for vulnerable populations in our communities.

As part of Hurricane Helene recovery, WNC Thrive expands resources for children, youth, and families affected by the storm. The program helps young people heal, reconnect, and thrive through safe, supportive, engaging activities—all at no cost to families.

WNC Thrive works with multiple organizations to offer after-school, weekend, and summer camp programs to children and families recovering from Hurricane Helene. All activities are free for eligible participants living in one of the 22 hurricane-affected counties Vaya serves.
